### Why is my circular photo distorted into an ellipse?

The "Circle" preset works **perfectly on square photos** (1:1 aspect ratio). If you upload a rectangular photo (e.g., 16:9 or 4:3), the result will be an ellipse (oval), not a perfect circle. Solution: Before processing, crop the photo to a square using our "Image Cropper" tool or any editor. Then use the "Circle" preset to get a perfectly round photo.

### Can I round the corners of an animated GIF?

Currently, **no** – GIF animations are unfortunately not supported. The tool only processes **static images** (JPG, PNG, WebP). If you upload an animated GIF, only the first frame will be processed. To preserve animation, you would need a specialized GIF editing tool.

### How to create a perfectly circular profile photo?

Follow these steps:  
1\. **Crop the photo to a square** (1:1 ratio) – you can use our "Image Cropper" tool  
2\. **Upload** the square photo to the corner rounding tool  
3\. **Click the "Circle" preset** (sets 50% rounding)  
4\. **Select "Transparent" background** (important for transparent corners)  
5\. **Choose "PNG" format** (JPG does not support transparency)

### Why do rounded corners have rough, jagged edges?

This can have several causes: 1) **Low resolution of the original photo** – for smooth edges, we recommend at least **800×800 pixels**. Smaller photos do not have enough pixels to render a smooth curve. 2) **Strong JPG compression** – try PNG output for better quality. 3) **Browser** – older browsers do not have as good anti-aliasing. Our tool uses the Canvas API with anti-aliasing, but quality also depends on the input image.

### Can I set different rounding for each photo during batch processing?

**No** – batch processing applies the **same settings** to all uploaded photos simultaneously. This is its main advantage – speed and consistency. If you need individual rounding for each photo (e.g., photo 1 has 10%, photo 2 has 20%), you must process them **individually** or in multiple batches with the same settings.

### Does rounding corners affect the quality of the original photo?

**No**, if you choose the correct output format. When using **PNG** (lossless compression) or **JPG/WebP with 90-100% quality**, the process is practically lossless. Rounding is created using Canvas API clipping – original pixels within the rounded area remain untouched. The only change is at the corners, where a background is added (transparent/white/black/custom).

### Does the tool work offline without an internet connection?

**Yes!** After the first page load, the tool is saved to your browser's cache (thanks to the **service worker**). On subsequent visits, even without internet, the tool works fully. Photos are processed locally in your browser, so you don't need internet even during processing. Ideal for working on the go or in places with poor signal.

### Do you process photos on your server?

**Absolutely not!** Everything runs **100% locally in your browser** using HTML5 Canvas API and JavaScript. Photos are **never uploaded**, they do not leave your computer, and we do not have access to them. Therefore, the tool works offline and is safe for confidential company materials or personal photos. No cookies, no tracking, no data storage.

### How to round corners according to precise CSS values (e.g., border-radius: 16px)?

If you are working with a **design system** and need precisely 16px rounding (the same as CSS `border-radius: 16px`), proceed as follows: 1) Switch units from "Percent" to **"Pixels"**. 2) Set the sliders to the value **16**. 3) Make sure the corners are linked (🔗) for uniform rounding. The resulting file will have exactly a 16px radius, consistent with your CSS design.

### Can I create asymmetric rounding (each corner different)?

**Yes!** This is one of the advanced features of the tool. Click the lock icon (🔓) to **unlink corners**. Then you can set each corner individually using separate sliders. ### Why not just CSS?

CSS `border-radius` only works in the browser – it does not round the **actual image file**. This means:
